Team 2012

This is the view we get at the end of our road as we head off out to competitions, of course only on the good days when the weather is bright and we're lucky enough to be able to leave after daybreak. I can't really say  we saw it a lot last year, a fall off a young horse in March put me out of action for the majority of it. I really only hobbled through (literally) with a few competitions thrown in for good measure. My leg may never be the same again but at long last I'm back to feeling fairly level and balanced  with a left leg that works so here's hoping for 2012. Please you guys below help me out!

I have had Turnip since he was 2yrs old, he has a lot of ability though he is still a bit immature physically and in temperament. I think he will finish off about 16.2hh but he only started growing from pony size last year.

2010 panned out much as expected,as you can see jumping is not a problem, infact he is considerably more scopey than I had anticipated. Although he never got a novice run he was needing it by the Autumn. His dressage remained disappointing despite doing lovely work at home he finds the competition environment all too much or dressage all too boring, he does his very level  best to turn it into an invisible jump and gymkhana competition. I still have high hopes for him once he starts approaching 7 or 8yrs old and starts to grow up  maybe sooner if we can find the key to calm the dressage down. Perhaps some training days and pure dressage competitions during the winter will help.

Charlie was bought at Addington performance sales. He was broken a few weeks before Red, he is still entire which has made it a little more exciting for him on his first few outings. Luckily he has a very laid back temperament. Lets hope this continues into the spring as it would be fun to try and grade him  with the SHB of GB.

I have had Red since he was a foal although he was only broken late 2009, this photo was one of his first fences. His breeding is very similar to Mauvaise Herbe, his grandad being Argentinus and he displays a similiar though slightly more fiery character. He is confident and cocky but adores people, I think he will have a lot to offer in the years ahead.

Roger (and Mauvaise Herbe) supported my learning curve in french competitions, they ran over all sorts of wierd and wonderful tracks as we discovered the best venues.Rog has rarely been unplaced in France he qualified for the 5yo champs where he was one of only 15 horses to jump double clear. He also qualified for the 6yo champs but we were tied up with Neddy in the UK so he didn't get to attend.

Roger  is sometimes available for flatwork lessons, he is by far the most advanced of my horses in this field and is a really soft, supple and pleasurable ride. This will only be available to more experienced jockeys as he is also very sensitive.
