At least some of us round here are enjoying the snow, most of us have well and truly had enough and want to get on with it. Thankfully we did get a passage from the snow plough so today I bravely wrapped up Rog and Ned and took them for a totter round the lanes. On the whole the roads were free of ice and slush which was lucky as Neddy was leaping about like  a spring lamb after his few days of unplanned holiday.
We've had a rather up and down week. I've lost my favourite schooling spot at Vire indoor school as they are now wanting to charge me 5 euro a horse. To use it with 5 or 6 horses a week makes this way out of my budget. It is a massive blow to me as it was really handy with Red and Charlie and the other immature 'bad' day people as it is properly covered and enclosed. I should be grateful I had its use for so long though, all last winter it was just about my own personal school all for the ghastly fee of four euro per hour and a half session! I'll have to venture back round to the Renarderie to renew my membership so that I can use their schools again.
A BIG THANK YOU GOES OUT TO LYNNE TOO FOR SO KINDLY LETTING ME USE HER SCHOOL! It is incredibly valuable to me.
To be honest in these conditions I wouldn't be venturing out in the trailer anyway, it is just not worth the risk of damage to vehicle, trailer, horses or myself, if it puts us back a week;so be it. To this end I have abandoned my thoughts of getting Neddy to his first trial on the 20th of Feb, just a week away, as he is never going to be ready and his paperwork is never going to be back in time.
On the upside it seems like they have put a class in for Rog (amateur 1 which he qualified for last year in the cycle libre classes) at the next trial 14th March which boasts the same venue of fantastic going in the showjumping arena and on the entire xc course.
But the BEST news of all is that all this snowy depression has allowed me to dedicate serious time to puppy maketing and the cutesy pictures seem to have paid off. Today was a bun fight by 3 o'clock we had managed to sell 4 pups! We actually felt grateful to be paddling round the kitchen in our wellies through the puppy puddles. Tiddles and turds, what trouble?
